Antennas have been around for a long time. Before the birth of cable television, homes would need it to just to get a signal. The person would need to put this on the roof and adjust it from time to time to get better reception. Satellite television has also changed this making these crude yet useful devices obsolete.

First Sleepover Survival Guide
by soycandleman on March 8th, 2010
Your child’s first sleepover away from home is a bid deal. Not only is it something enjoyable for your child and his friends or relatives, but it also asserts a first step in independence. As much fun as your child will have, though, sleeping away from you, his bed, and room can also cause a fair share of anxiety for him…and for you! To help this milestone go more smoothly, follow these simple steps for worry free sleepovers: The first step is to get a kids sleeping bag that he or she feels comfy in. There are many styles and a wide range of prices. In general the more expensive models are thicker and include better material. Make sure you notice weather the sleeping bag is intended for inside or outside use. Outdoor models are made to keep kids warm and aren’t as cute. Indoor sleeping bags are meant to be used as a slumber bag or as an extra comforter. Inform the caregiver of any bedtime routines your child is used to. If there will be other kids there they may be so busy playing, your child won’t even miss hearing a lullaby or reading a book. A trip to grandma’s house however, may require more strictly adhering to the usual routine. This will give your child a sense of familiarity and security, so he may not become quite so homesick. Plan ahead. If there will be no scheduled activities, movies, or games planned at the sleepover; pack them yourself. If your child stays busy having fun, he won’t have time to miss you! Go have fun yourself. Letting go of your baby is hard and you will undoubtedly second guess letting your child stay away. Is he scared? Is the mattress too lumpy? Did he eat his peas? Quiet your overactive imagination by seeing a movie, having a date with your spouse, reading a book, or taking a long hot bath. If you have other children, take them someplace special like the park or to get ice cream. Anything fun and distracting. Be prepared to pick up your child. No matter how well prepared you are, it may just be too early for an overnight. It is perfectly normal for a first timer to become scared or home sick, and letting your child know that you are ready to come to the rescue will instill confidence in you for the next go round. For more comfortable stay always with less fuss, we recommend the Cozy Quilt Blue Slumber Bag. Soft and plush, your little one will sleep soundly and so will you.

Keeping Their Attention with Classroom Furniture
by soycandleman on March 1st, 2010
One of the best things about childhood is getting to pretend. Pretend play brings out the creativity in children while encouraging them to invent with their own ideas. Teachers love to see their students engaging in this kind of play. It can be like a little window into how they think, what they like to do, and what their talents are. classroom furniture is a great way to encourage pretend play within the classroom. The simple set up of classroom table and chairs can give kids a place to study, create art and work on projects. Students can pretend they are at the dinner table while they serve and eat pretend food. This gives students a relaxed setting to act like a family and take turns doing different jobs. Students may also arrange the table and chairs in a way that represents the classroom, pretending to be teacher and students. For a teacher, it is exciting to see students play school. It gives insight into what they are learning and what type of teaching they mimic. Teachers can observe and get some understanding into what parts of the day and what types of lessons kids enjoy. They will pick their favorite things to act out. A table and chairs is also a good setting for pretend office play. Maybe students have seen their parents work at an office, have visited the school office, or watched the teacher work at her desk. For teachers, this type of play is a good way to see which students take the leadership roles and which students take other roles. Having book displays in the classroom give students the perfect setting to play library or book store. This kind of play will encourage students to read and become interested in books. Students can take turns being the librarian or cashier and describe the books to the other students. Whatever classroom furniture you have in your classroom, it can be used to encourage pretend play in students. This will give you, as the teacher, a look into the personality of each student and give you many options to reinforce classroom lessons.

How to Convert FLAC Files to MP3
by Admin on March 1st, 2010
By Jasmine Stone
Firstly, a FLAC is an abbreviation for “Free Lossless Audio Codec,” which means that the audio is compressed and the size of the file is smaller, but the quality is still the same. On the other hand, an MP3, an abbreviation for MPEG-3, is a lossy audio format that looses a bit of the original audio data. Converting a file from .flac to .mp3 can be an annoying task, but it can be done quite easily in any operating system with the right program.
